There are at least 51 burials of unnamed, unknown or stillborn infants interred in Old Gorge Cemetery. I decided to make a list of these 'angels' - plus all the all other infants found around the age 2 or 3, whether in a known plot or not. Adding known info on their parents etc, to help your searches. . His name is Duiston on the database and on the plaque, but, whoever this child was, his name was not Duiston, no such name exists in the births or deaths or marriages of New Zealand. There are many Durston, Duston, or Dustin, but even then no months old child of those names are recorded as died in that time frame. He was previously interred in the original Pinfold Road Cemetery and reburied in 1892.
