- Ernest was the son of Felix WOJCIECHOWSKI of Poland who emigrated to NZ about 1875 to avoid being drafted into the Prussian army, changing his name to Voitrekovsky and again in 1936 to VOITRE. Ernest's mother was Margaret REIDY of Ireland who married Felix in 1883 on her parents farm at Kumeroa, Woodville. Margaret was 16 at the time.
Ernest and Ivy also changed their name to VOITRE
- (a grandson of Felix & Margaret Voitre was Keith Voitre, a Melbourne jockey who was also a Melbourne Cup winner in 1935 riding MARABOU. Keith died on 10th September 1938 when he fell from a horse, Frill Prince, at Moonee Valley - researching if Keith was a son of Ivy & Ernest or of one of Ernest's brothers)

Gladys died Kensington Hill in 1891. Age recorded as 7 (could be 7 weeks or 7 months) The death index records the mother as Bella TRICKLEBANK. They loved changing their names in the old days. The father at birth and death for Gladys are recorded as unknown.
* Isabella TRICKLEBANK and Charles RICHARDS were married in Victoria in 1895 as you stated. The marriage index records Charles birth place as Bendigo, Victoria.
