CHEW FAMILY OF MOLONG, NSW, AUSTRALIA

Journal by peg

I am researching Thomas & Jane CHEW & family that arrived in Australia in 1857 from England and settled in Molong NSW. Their children were:
Larniah CHEW who married Charles MAY;
Georgina who married Samuel HARDY;
Emily Jane who married Thomas RING;
Henry A who married Rose Alice PEARS.

Thomas CHEW attempted to murder his wife Jane and spent 3 years in Parramatta gaol.
Jane CHEW continued to have children with Henry ASHBY; Eliza A ASHBY; William HAC ASHBY & John ASHBY;

and then she had Harry; Mary; Richard AC & George FA. (Father unknown for last 4). Births registered under either CHEW, ASHBY, LUCAS, or a combination of all three.

Emily Jane RING (nee CHEW) adopted Frank HARDY later known as Frank RING.

The ASHBY & RING families moved to the Peak Hill & Tomingley areas of NSW.

Would be pleased to hear from anyone with information for any of the above.

Mark found your entry after I had sent the email on the Ashby & Weldon families on 28//11/2011. I have brief details of John & Sarah Ashby being involved with a Hotel which I think Thomas Ring had it before them. I do not have any specific info on this matter. Will be glad to see what info you have that I have not yet included.

Rose

I am travelling at present and am not sure if I have anything on Enith. It is a while since I did any work on this family line. I have been given various certificates for the Hardy connections and am willing to share these if you have a need. As mentioned in an earlier post the adoption of Frank Hardy later Frank Ring by Emily Ring (nee Chew sister of Georgina) leaves a lot of unanswered issues. My email is ftresearch@hotmail.com.au

Hi My name is June Turner. Enith Mary Clark is my Grandmother.
My mother Doreen (who passed away 12 months ago)was number 8 of the 13 chidren.
What I have found out Enith Marry was adopted, But it says on her papers the words"Taken in by"and when her adoped father passed away, tthey did not put Enith Mary down on the head stone with his otther children, Which is quite sad. She belonged to the Wiradjuri Mob from Peak Hill.I am desparent to find her birth parents names. THis is true that Nanna Clark and Grand Father Clark sang on stage. Nanna Clark the most beautiful voice. They had a group calls the Black and White Minstrals.My Godmother , when she was very young also sang on stage with this at time.
So nice to hear some one else is looking for info on Enith Mary Hardy Clark.
