In 1991, Croatia gained her independence, but was not recognized until 1992. Fannie came to the United States in 1956 to see her sister Lukra (Lucy) Laurich Viscovich. They had not seen each other in 50 years. Lukra (Lucy) left New Zealand in 1906 with her husband Tony Viskovich and 2 young daughter's Mary age 1 year and 8 months and Priscilla 6 months old...
