GARRATT on 2012-07-18 09:33:25Hi Tonkin, My brother left me with the task of contacting you regarding your Garratt entries so I am unfamiliar with the site and how to send /attach spreadsheets so here is a taste of some of what we know ...There is more from London that I will have to verify with my brother's records he made after returning from London .
1805 James Garratt. b London ...James studied law
1838. James married Celina Paine at St Martin Birmingham Warwick
1844 or 1839. I MUST CONFIRM Their son Charles Turnley Garratt born (Middlesex)

3. William Garratt. My g/father said he was born in Wiliamstown Vic 5/09/1883. But no record was ever found

I will have to confirm with my brother if James was a barrister or solicitor in London . He has sent me a number of spreadsheets during and after his visit to London last year but I have not studied the scene that exactly but can send some of the info if you wish more
Note Charles was married twice and by co incidence both were Janes..I found the first marriage by accident about 25 years ago during my search for a completely different family
