GROVES FAMILY RESEARCH - NEW!

Journal by abigail2

Hi to all Groves family members and researchers:

I am just beginning to research the Groves family of

NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA

My grandparents Arthur and Janet Groves, lived in CESSNOCK NSW.

I would love to add Arthur's parents and siblings to our tree.

Can anyone help me?

Dear Abi, Here's a bit of help for you...

Your grandparents Arthur GROVES and Janet Ramsay SULLIVAN were married in 1956 at Cessnock, New South Wales, Australia, Registration No.6302/1956.

I would recommend purchasing their Marriage Certificate if no-one in the family has it already. May provide you with additional information like: parents names of bride and groom, and also witnesses, occupations of bride/groom etc, location of marriage etc.

Click on BUY NOW NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. Cert will cost $27.00.

Deaths in NSW are only searchable online up to the year 1978.

Ask in your family who has any bdm certs to assist in your Groves etc. research.

A cheaper alternative to tracing ancestors etc. in NSW is to use Joy Murrin - Transcription Agent You must first supply the Registration Nos. of certs that you wish by browswing through the NSW bdms online for $17 and under.

Thanks Alison,

I have my parents' marriage certificate.

It gives names of parents only, no dates or place of birth, making it impossible to know for sure, as there are many people with the same name.

I have ordered and paid for a birth certificate, but I am still waiting to receive it.

I would like to hear from other Groves researchers who may have their stories about my grandparents, as I do.

I recently spoke to a close relative of theirs' who told me a story about me, when I was a child of two - priceless!

I was wondering if there are others out there.

I found relatives from my husband's side through a post like this, so here's hoping ...
