HOLLINGS Willis from U.K.
Willis sailed to Port Nicholson, Wellington, New Zealand, leaving Gravesend Southampton 1928, aged 19 (born @ 1909) with a few other young men similar age ? in care of a Salvation Army officer on the "Tamaroa." He worked on farms around Gisborne, East Cape, Nth. Island New Zealand. About 1936 he married Winifred May HILL nee BEVAN and lived in Hastings, Hawkes Bay, working as a bar-man.They were together til about 1957, after which he married Lois Coster ? He died 1978, buried Tauranga (Pyes Pa) & Lois was subsequently buried with him in 1985. Any help with parents, where he was from, the Salvation Army's role in his emigration, his marriage to Lois etc. I have discovered bits of his story in New Zealand & am happy to share what I have.
Thank you
