Hougland/Hoagland

Journal by dmitche3

I'm still trying to find more history about my Hoagland side of the family. I can get back to the late 1700s but no connection to the "three brother" theory. I think that I broke the claim that all Houglands in America came from three bothers in 1645.

Yes, the Cozars and the number of spellings is large and they are all related. As well as they are related to the Ruple, Hougland, and Day.

Surnames: Day Hickman Hoagland Hougland McIlrath Mitchell Ruple Shaw

I guess that I can't edit postings. Hmm,
I've traced the McIlrath to the 1600s. The Day family to 1340s, and I'm working on the Houglands as mentioned and eventually Mitchell and Hickmans from Morrell, Marion Co, Ohio.

As I'm only 2nd generation American US Geneology sites won't work.
