looking for a "Mr. Stewart" believed to have married Kathleen Torstenson around 1940-1945

Query by OldRelic

Hello I am looking for a Mr.Stewart believed to have married Kathleen Torstenson around 1940-1945

Mr.Stewart is believed to be an American Airman in Whangarei, New Zealand sometime around 1940-1945.

My Mother's marriage license to my father, shows her to have been the Widow of Mr. Stewart (widowed in 1945).

No further information is known and I have had no luck in finding any records to show the marriage of Mr. Stewart to Kathleen Torstenson.

Any information no matter how small will be welcome with open arms.

You might see what you can find on the www.familysearch.com...it is the LDS genealogy site and they might have more info for you. They have research from all over the world. It is free to check it out and see.

Where is Whangarel?

by OldRelic on 2011-11-07 23:06:30

Hi,

My apologies.

Whangarei is a town in the North Island of New Zealand.

Whangarei is approx 170 kilometers north of Auckland (New Zealand's largest city)

Thanks for asking.

Hi happyfox.

Re: "Family Search", I have tried that in vain.

My biggest problem is that I do not have a christian name or a year for the marriage.

All I have to go on is that my Mothers marriage license to my Father describes her a being a "Widow".

The Surname of Stewart was mentioned by another (Now Deceased) relative and She also said that He was an American Airman.

So it is really a case of playing Detective in a major way.

Thanks again.

A Kathleen Torstenson was my mother's cousin, however I have no knowledge of her marrying a Mr Stewart.
