George Gray MITCHELL was my Great Great Grandfather. He was the father of my maternal Great Grandmother Gertrude Lilly MITCHELL. Any information on George would be much appreciated. The family seemed to move around alot as the children were all born in different country towns in Victoria.

Is this the death of Gertrude's mother?
If so where did George take his family after Mary's death.
Two of their children, Sarah Jane (1862-1935) and Charles George (1867-1934), died in Victoria, but I have not located their other three children, Elizabeth Ellen (1869), Florence (1871) and Gertrude Lilly (1875).
lmsvic on 2015-01-08 06:29:51Yes this was the death of Gertrude's mother (Gertrude was sometimes known as Lilly). I'm not sure where George went after Mary's death, but he did marry again I think. I have details of Gertrude Lilly (my g.grandmother) but don't know much about the other family members.

Gertrude never used her birth name of Gertrude and it took time to find her marriage and death. Informant for her death named her father as Charles MITCHELL. Her mother Mary was also recorded as TYE in a few other death records for her children.
I have searched all the MITCHELL death records but unable to find your George Gray MITCHELL and expect his death was simply recorded as George MITCHELL. Will keep looking.
