I live in California and am trying to piece together information about a William Sear, b. England about 1835 and his first wife, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bryant, also born in England. I think that William was in the United States by 1850, and he and Elizabeth had a daughter born in Connecticut 1866. Lizzie died young, and William's second wife was also English. The fact that William and second wife Helen had a son named Claydon makes me wonder if Steeple Claydon was William's place of origin. Appreciate any suggestion to tie William to English origin.
