Brief History of Odessa, Delaware ... Cantwell's Bridge

Brief history of Odessa (originally called Appoquinimink). British settlers eventually replaced the Dutch and in 1664 the area was confiscated and deeded to a Captain Edmund Cantwell. The adjoining village gradually became known as Cantwell's Bridge.
