Looking for Barnes' of Wayne, Wilson, Sampson, Cumberland, Harnett, and Robeson Counties

Query by luckybrunette

HI,
My name is Nancy (Barnes)Carnahan. I am searching for my families. They are the Barnes' from North Carolina and the Lucas' from Virginia and North Carolina. The Counties of: Wayne, Wilson, Sampson, Cumberland, Harnett, and Robeson.
I have never met any one of them. My father never mentioned any of them. They disowned him because he married out of his "league", he married a farmers daughter. They disapproved.
I do know my grandfathers name was Silas Lucas Barnes, as is my fathers. I haven't seen my father in at least 36 years, at His request. Anyway, Silas Barnes Sr. was born 09 Jul 1908 in Wilson Co.. He died 12 Jun 1958 in Wilson Co.. He was buried in the Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, N C. his fathers name was John Thomas Barnes Sr., his mothers name was Minnie Etta Lucas. Minnie was born 24 Mar. 1884 in Wilson, N C.. She died 07 Feb.1938 in Wilson, N C.. She was also buried in Maplewood Cemetery. Her parents were, Father:Silas Lucas, Jr. and her mother, Charity B. Bass.
If anyone has any information on either Family and are willing to share, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Nancy (Barnes) Carnahan
