Just research, there are quite a few Wharton's in and around the Canungra area in Brisbane QLD. Canungra is about 30kms inland from the Gold Coast not far from Mt Tamborine.

Information is available through ancestry.com.au, QLD BMD online and I think there is also a Historical Society in Canungra, you could also try Trove (online newspapers), State Library of QLD and also National Archives these may give you more information on Henry and his family, Google could be another option you just never know.

My paternal grandmother was named Emma Gannon (nee Wharton) and she is buried in the Upper Coomera cemetery near Canungra and while I have little knowledge of her ancestry I understand her father was a timber cutter and had a bullock team working in the Canungra area. Both Emma and her brother owned houses in Warmington Street, Paddington until their death.

I do understand that a nephew Brian Wharton who lives at The Gap in Brisbane has a fairly comprehensive family tree of the Wharton family and if they are willing I will pass on contact or other details
