Nancy Elizabeth Campbell was born in North Carolina in 1793. Her mother was Sarah Campbell. Nancy married Arthur Barrs born 1792 in Lenoir County North Carolina. They had six children, 3 male and 3 female. After Arthur Barrs? death in 1843 in Twiggs County North Carolina Nancy sold their plantation in Twiggs County Georgia and the family moved to South Georgia and settled in Lowndes County Georgia. The two oldest daughters remained in Twiggs County Georgia, having married local men there. Nancy lived with her youngest son William W. Barrs in 1858 Brooks County Georgia after it divided from Lowndes County Georgia. They lived in the Nankin District of Brooks County when Nancy died in 1887. Her obituary stated that both her parents were Irish. She is buried in the old Columbia Church cemetery in Nankin.
