Looking for parents of WALKER in Walsall

Query by KableWalker

I have a grandparent named William WALKER who married a Gertrude LAWRENCE in 1896 in STaffs. I am looking for William's parents- I think there was another William WALKER. I'd also like to find Gertrude's mother- her father was Frederick LAWRENCE I believe.

Thank you.

hello Kay,
Gertrude's parents were Frederick LAWRENCE (1840-1886) born Lichfield, Staffordshire, England, and Harriet DOLMAN (1843-1918) born Lichfield, Staffordshire

- they married in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England on 10 Aug 1862
- they had 10 children 9 daughters! in Walsall, Staffordshire

1863 - 1920 Mary Ann Lawrence
1865 - ? Emily Rosina Lawrence
1868 - ? Laura Lawrence
1871 - ? Samuel Lawrence
1873 - 1947 Gertrude Lawrence (in Wellington)
1875 - 1922 Winifred Maud Lawrence
1877 - 1903 Florence Beatrice Lawrence
1880 - 1937 Blanche Lilian M. Lawrence
1886 - 1949 Elsie Lavinia Lawrence
1886 - 1965 Miriam Constance Lawrence

Frederick died in 1886 aged 46
Harriet next married Isiah PADDOCK (1843-1925) in 1891 in Walsall

Frederick's parents (Gertrude's paternal grandparents) were William LAWRENCE (1810-1869) and his first wife, Eliza Ann QUARE (1811-1844). They had 6 children. Eliza died in 1844 aged 33 and William remarried in 1846 to Caroline WHEATLEY (1822-1880) and had another 9 children

William's parents (Gertrude's great grandparents) were James LAWRENCE (1776-1837) and Mary STACEY (1773-1855) who married in Warwickshire in 1896 and had 8 children

you will find a lot of info at that link on this branch of your family

Thank you very much @Ngairedith! I had considered Harriet Dolman as Frederick Lawrence's spouse but then rejected her because of the Lichfield connection. Now I can investigate further. My Walkers are more elusive, though I have a 1901 Census with William Walker's wife's name as Eliza and her age then as 53. However there are a lot of Elizas and Elizabeths marrying Walkers at the right time. My mother's side of the family [Kable/McGregor] is much easier to track down.
Thanks again- what a goldmine of information!
