Looking forthe book "Fowkes Family" published sometime in 1950's by a Major Fowkes (Fooks)

Our Family had the green book about the Fowkes family tree published sometime in the 1950's. Some of the family names going backward are Pusey, Gordy, Lecates, Staton. I am trying to find as much information as I can about obtaining the book,or books for my family.

jmlelis1 on 2009-12-15 10:32:34Well I know about the book but I have never seen it. Even the LDS church genealogical library has no copy. It shows all the surnames attached to the name Fooks, Fowkes, Fawkes, Focques and send you back to Fulco Nerra, Fulk III, Count of Anjou. This establishes the link to the Plantagenet Kings of England.
rayf on 2013-04-13 06:54:13I note that the post I am answering goes way back to 2009, however, if you haven't already solved the question of the 'Fowkes' Family Book, I can assist. I believe the book you are/were looking for to be "FOOKS (Fowke) FAMILY" by Herbert C Fooks, published in 1953. The book is out of print but I have digitised a complete copy, together with a comprehensive index.
There is also the booklet 'The Fowkes of Boughrood Castle (a Study in Social Mobility)" published by Eileen and Harry Green in 1973. I also have this volume in digital form.
