Researching the Mason, Lightfoot lines who settled in Shepparton, Australia, and in particular the Goulburn Valley. The Mason who left the UK features in my children's family tree and also a fellow tree member in the UK. They descend from James Collett Collet-Mason, and no it was originally James Collett Mason, who emigrated to Argentina, but was given a royal warrant to add collett as an extra surname.
His grandparents were WILLIAM WALLIS MASON AND MARY WARD. Parents were Joseph Ward and Sarah Asline, they married 1780 in sheffield uk, and he was a Master cutler. Mary Ward was their 2nd daughter, and she married the grandfather of James C-M in 1805. Children William Wallis Mason, Mary Mason, Sarah Mason HENRY WARD MASON 1812 Charlotte Mason and Eliza.

HENRY WARD MASON 1812, had a son also named Henry Ward Mason who we know emigrated to Australia. There is a belief that he married Anne Lightfoot. He is probably the father of Asline Collett Mason 1858 and Arthur Burdekin Mason, 1860 and in an article about The Pines, built for Thomas swallow in Shepparton, a Mr. Edward Lightfoot refers to his nephews, Asline C.M. and Arthur B.M. which rather suggests to me that Edward could have been the brother of Anne Lightfoot who married Henry Ward Mason, BUT I cannot get any of the information I have already researched to gel.
I may have the sequence all wrong........were there any other siblings for Anne Lightfoot, Asline and Arthur....who did these chaps marry........can anyone help, especially those who descend from them.
Both my children Elizabeth and PHilip, plus another descendant sarah, for whom I am doing this research, descend from James collett-collett-Mason, through his daughters Ascline Francis and Margret Marion, both born argentina but ended back in the uk pre-WW1. I do have a drawing of James C-M drawing by his artist son William Wallis Mason 1895, if there are any fellow 'Masons' or 'Wards" still living in Shepperton. There are no more William wallis Mason names in this family line, as william 1895 died without children. The uk Mason line has been well researched by myself almost up to date, and the WARD line was sent to me from sheffield, for anyone interested.
