My name is Sherry Carpenter Mitchell and I have been researching my family for a few years now. It's been a joy and a headache all at once and I'm sure there are many others who feel the same way. Most of my family research is along the east coast from Kentucky, Virginia, South and North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. This is also true for my husband's family. Due to some issues with my back, I am not able to travel to do much of my research and rely on the computer quite a bit.
Some of the surnames I've been researching are on my paternal side: CARPENTER, BOGGS, BARKER, GEARHEART, ARCHER, WAGGONER/WAGNER, SKAGGS, SALYERS/SALYER, HALE, HOWARD.
Maternal side are: PRICE, TURNER, ROSS, LIBBY, LEE, ZECH, MILLER, BARISON, MAMPRIN, FURLAN, AND BECCEGATO.
My husband's paternal side: MITCHELL, REEVES, KING, MADDOX, DUKE, CANNADAY, BLANKS, DEASON, MCCLURE.
His maternal side: BELLAMY, STRANGE, CARLAN, DUDLEY/DUDNEY, COTTINGHAM, GARRISON, GOOLSBY, NEAL, PATTERSON, DAILEY, CHATHAM/CHEATHAM, HIGGINBOTHAM, SATTERWHITE, CAMPBELL, CRIBB, NORTON, HUGGINS AND PROCTOR.
These of course are just a few as there are so many more. Glad to get this up and going and I hope to find connections and meet some great people.
