There are also 19 NANKERVIS buried or commemorated

Cosmo James Halse died on 16 November 1964 aged 73 (birth year of about 1891). He had been living in Nedlands, a suburb 7km south of Perth City. He has a Memorial in the Garden of Remembrance at Karrakatta Cemetery, Position 0020 - Site 20D - Crematorium Rose Gardens

Thomas Henry Halse died on 12 August 1951 aged 72 (birth year of about 1879). He had been living in Calingiri, about 150km north of Perth City. His ashes were taken by the Funeral Director

Elizabeth Annie Halse died on 1 September 1956 aged 86 (a north year of about 1870). She had been living at Coogee Beach, about 30km south of Perth City. She is buried in Gravesite 0397 - Section HA - Area Wesleyan at Karrakatta Cemetery

James Henry Halse died on 18 October 1982 aged 82 (birth year of about 1900). He had been living in Bentley, a suburb 10km SE of Perth City. He has a Memorial at Karrakatta Cemetery, Garden of Remembrance - Position 0242 - Site 13 - EC Section

Did not find Melva in Perth or Coolgardie

Thanks for searching the cemetery records for these burials. I've been chasing up a few deaths and marriages and will update this post when I sort a few things out. I'm sure it will help a few people researching these lines.

Melva died 1930 in Boulder W.A. at the young aged of 34 years. Have not visited the cemetery as yet.

Melva Nankervis was my Grandmother and married to Cosmo James Halse . seems like a few of them married each others families over the years .
I would like to know more about her and who her parents were ? There are very few bits of information available to me as little or no information was passed down the line .
Even her parents names would be appreciated .

Melva and Cosmo were married in Coolgardie , lived in Boulder , Melva is buried in the Boulder Cemetary . Children born to Melva and Cosmo ,in Boulder , were Ronald , Gladious and Ross Halse . Cosmo James her husband is buried in Karrakatta Cemetary Fremantle W.A

OK - Melva was born in Kadina, South Australia in 1894. Her parents were Richard NANKERVIS and Elizabeth HARWOOD.

I only have hand written notes on this family at the moment and will put something together tomorrow. I'm trying to get rid of this flu I have and must not overwork myself.

Needed the confirmation on Melvas folks to remove those horrible ?? marks . Learning more about her now than in 50 odd years prior to today. TY to the good side of the internet and the people who use it wisely :)

Sorry, can't help you with the parents of Cosmo. I only know they were James and Jane. They had another five children in New South Wales besides Cosmo, but I have not located a marriage for them. We know they were still in N.S.W. in 1890 when Gladious was born but have no idea when they moved to W.A.

As for their deaths ... could be any of the above.

I put my notes together on Melva's family and have put up a post with what details I have collected to date. I have only done a bit of research on the NANKERVIS lines in South Australian and still have a lot to learn from the records. I do know there are plenty of them and they are not always easy to find because they are always on the move.

There was a Richard NANKERVIS died in Coolgardie in 1921 so he may be worth looking at. I will do a search of the S.A. births and see if I can find a possible birth for Richard and Elizabeth. Let me know if you have them - it will save me some time.

I think Elizabeth Ann and Stirling William NANKERVIS will be two of the clan.

And a correction to my last reply - I named Gladious being the last born in N.S.W. in 1890 ... this should have been Alfred. We all make errors.

I have since searched the S.A. records for the birth of Richard NANKERVIS and Elizabeth HARWOOD. No luck with Elizabeth but Richard was born there in 1887. His parents were Thomas NANKERVIS and Mary GRENFELL. Have started a post on the family for anyone interested and will update with marriages and deaths after further searches of the records. It all takes time.

LOOK at the above re Thomas Henry HALSE and Elizabeth Annie NANKERVIS were married in Victoria in 1895.

Thomas died 1951 Perth district, Western Australia, aged 72 years.

It makes Thomas 16 at the time of his marriage ? if you have the Thomas as being in W.A and dead in 1956 .
His wife would have been 25 , Does some one have a marriage certificate for this or its all guess work ???

Thank you Phil. Will leave Thomas above ground for now. It's also possible this Thomas was a few years older than stated. Will take another look at things.

melva Halse is buried in the old bolder cemetery with her father the records are at the Kalgoorlie. they are my Grand Mother and great grand father.
