Richard Woods & Hannah Whalley + their son William Woods born 1888 in England Birth Certificate!

A relative of mine died last year, and from their house a birth certificate was found.

I was very excited as it was the first break through going back in my pedigree that I've found in ages, let alone a verified one by a birth certificate, and that I found by myself (vs copying off other people's family trees).

It's a pain that doing family ancestry research (I started in 2013), is often put behind a paywall. I can't afford the ancestry.com. 100USD per year is a lot. It's super annoying as I can't even view the records that I approved during the 1 week trail that I did in 2020. Nor can I contact people who have people I know on their tree. I'm sure family research would be dramatically expediated if it weren't for all the high costs involved in seeing some of the records. That said, I fully respect the right of the companies to charge as much as they want to access the records which they would have worked extremely hard to all get digitalized. There are middle ground ways around it, like posts like this, in which I can publish the information I know, and hopefully people via Google Search can find this post, and we can communicate via this.

The certificate is not the original. It is not online such as on Ancestry.

This is the information I know so far. I wrote the following in 2015.

Evelyn Woods (5 March 1911 in England and died in 24 May 2000 in New Zealand) was born to William Woods (Jan 1888 - 3 April 1970) & Harriet Bond (died 28 February 1947). The marriage certificate is on Ancestry.com, which states William's father as Richard (I found this over a year ago), William and Harriet are also listed in the 1911 England census (also on Ancestry.com).

The certificate filled in text says (to the best of my interpretation, see image attached):

Very helpful. So William Woods's parents are "Richard Woods" and "Hannah Whalley". The area of Rainford was part of their story, William born 1888. And Richard was a coal miner.
