Constance Coralie Rolfe (1897-1946)
- daughter of Arthur Charles ROLFE & Annie Amelia Saranke Burne EADE
- married Robert Verner GAULT (1886-1949) in 1920
- son of Robert GAULT & Martha Annie COOPER
- Robert had served in WWI as Private 12/2707 with the Auckland Infanty Battalion, 6th Reinforcements. His next of kin was his mother: Mrs M. A. Gault, 52 Franklin Road, Auckland
* after 12 months Constance obtained a separation order from Robert but was persuaded to return to him
* the same thing happened again & after she returnd to him they moved to Sydney, Australia but separated again & Robert was ordered to pay ?2 7s 6d per week maintenance (equivalent to about $250 in 2012)
* Instead of paying, Robert moved to Melbourne. He was brought back to Sydney and gaoled. He was released on condition he paid maintenance, instead he disappeared to Suva
* Constance returned to New Zealand
* It was when Robert tried to Stowaway home to NZ from Suva, in 1927, that he was caught in Auckland
* Constance divorced him in Dec 1934, remarried to ? McLEOD & died in Auckland aged 48

Emma Rolfe (1882-)
Emma was the 6th of 8 children of Frederic William ROLFE & Emma STOCKMAN
- married James Cole DAVIDSON (1880-1926) in 1909
- James was born in Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland (a name he gave his son)
- a son, Arthur Kelso Davidson, serve in WWII as Trooper 1304 with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force (2NZEF), 1st Echelon, Divisional Cavalry. His next of kin was his sister Mrs M. A. Gibbs of Cambridge, Waikato. Arthur was killed in action in Italy 23 Sep 1944 aged 27

WEDDING BELLS MILLER-ROLFE
Today Mr H. Miller was married to Miss Rolfe, both of Woodville. The marriage was solemnized at the residence of Mr Ludecke and the Rev R. Gardner was the officiating clergyman. Mr Ludecke gave the bride away and the best man was Mr Abrahams. Miss Hila Wardrop was chief bridesmaid and the small bridesmaids were Esme Ludecke and Mina Ludecke (of Christchurch). The bride was charmingly attired in cream taffeta with cream silk trimmings, made tunic style and the usual veil and orange blossoms and she carried a beautiful bouquet of Christmas lillies and asparagus fern. Miss Wardrop was becomingly attired in cream voile trimmed with silk and silk insertion. The little bridesmaids wore pretty little dresses of white embroidered muslin, with lace bonnets to match.
After the ceremony a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken of. The Rev Mr Gardner proposed the healths of the bride and bridegroom in a very happy speech, wishing them a long and happy existence together. Then a photograph of the whole party was taken on the lawn.
Mr and Mrs Miller left for Napier by the express, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride's travelling dress was grey tweed with hat to match.
A large number of beautiful and useful presents were received by the happy couple. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome gold watch and to the bridesmaids a god brooch each.

MILLER - At her late residence, 'Karori', Ross Street, Woodville, on May 31st 1935, Harriett Caroline, beloved wife of John Miller Miller; aged 67 years. (Suddenly)
* The death occurred on Saturday morning of Mrs Harrietta Carolina Miller, wife of Mr John (Harry) Miller. Mrs Miller, who was 67 years of age, was well-known and respected in Woodville and her death came as a sudden shock to her relatives and friends. She was born at Port Chalmers in 1868 and came to Woodville in 1907. since when she has resided in the district. She was a keen supporter of the Presbyterian Church, Mr Miller being a member of the coir for many years. She was an accomplished musician. The relatives left to mourn their loss are two brothers and two sisters residing in Dunedin and Port Chalmers and two step-daughters, one in the United States and the other at Petone. The interment took place at the Woodville cemetery on Monday afternoon. Mr J. Stewart conducting the service at the graveside.
