I know this photo look a little ambitious and even bizarre for a reputed teacher of Science, but I am a keen astronomer and indeed a science fiction fanatic (in a healthy sense!). This was taken at the Deep Space Centre, Tidbinbilla, Canberra, ACT in October 2006.

Hello Nick Renzullo. This is your brother, Luigi Renzullo.

May be it?s because I?m getting older and about to start my own family now, but I am also very keen to explore our genealogy. However, I must admit a lot of scepticism of most of the material posted on the web pertaining to our roots. I would love to be able to check the authenticity of the information about our surname. The living members of our immediate family, admittedly, can only verify 3, may be 4, generation back and are thus of limited help. Nevertheless I think it a more satisfying approach to trace our ancestry from the bottom-up, rather than by finding (through Google) some obscure references to Renzullo --- which only really tells us that a lot of strangers share our surname.

Do you know if it is at all possible to work backward through time, starting with our own family records, to hunt down our (old, old) ancestors? I feel that the web is a less than ideal tool. Would a trip to Italy be needed to do the job properly? Is that the only way!? If so that would be very sad. With all the technology we have today ? we can send men to the moon, satellites to the far reaches of our solar system ? but if you want to find out who your great, great, great grand parents were, you have to leaf through some dusty old registry, ink fading, hidden under lock and key in some far way corner of Macchiagodena?s town hall ? our family?s wondeful origins slowly decaying until all that can be said with certainty (one day many, many years from now) is that the Renzullo?s in Canberra were closely related to those in Perth, Australia.
