WEDDING
CASS-HOPE - The marriage of Miss Beryl Thelma Hope, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Edward Hope of Wellington, to Mr Frank Wallace Cass, chief engineer of the Cambridge and youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Richard Cass, of London, was celebrated at Knox Church, Parnell, last evening, just a few hours after the bridegroom's arrival from London. The ceremony was performed by the Rev G. A. D. Spence and Mr W. H. Bennett played the organ music.
The bride, who was given away by her brother-in-law, Captain F. J. G. Warren, wore a frock of ice-blue satin with a short bodice, elbow-length puff sleeves and a full-length skirt. A blue and pearl clip ornamented the neckline. A white tulle veil, coin-spotted in blue, fell to the waist and was worn over a white tulle skull cap edged with small blue flowers. She carried a trailing shower bouquet of blue irises and hyacinths and pink carnations.
In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Margaret Macfarlane, who wore a frock of gold georgette over gold satin with a black velvet sash. She had autumn-coloured flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of golden-yellow daffodils. The bridegroom was attended by Captain P. Angell, master of the Cambridge, as best man.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Parnell Tea Kiosk, where Mrs Warren, sister of the bride, acted as hostess. She wore a frock of cigar-brown lace and a matching brown hat trimmed in front with a coral ornament. She carried a bouquet of yellow freesias, daffodils, lantern flowers and violets.

SUDDEN DEATH at WAKANUI
Quite a gloom was cast over the Wakanui district this morning, when it became known that Mrs Mary Anderson Cass, wife of Mr Francis Cass, had expired suddenly on the previous evening. Since the sad end of her son some few weeks ago, the deceased lady had suffered in health to such an extent as to cause her friends much anxiety. Although not confined to her bed, the deceased endeavoured to bravely combat her illness and would not be persuaded to keep to her room. At 9.30 last evening, after retiring to bed and while referring in sorrowful terms to the lamentable death of her son, John, the deceased lady suddenly and peacefully passed away. Mrs Cass landed in Lyttelton in 1863 in the Wakanui district, where she has permanently resided for over twenty-five years. She was 66 years of age and leaves a grown up family to mourn her death
