Elizabeth Ophelia Isabella TIDD was born on 15 June 1852 in Nelson

she was the first New Zealand born child of:
Thomas Samuel TIDD (1818-1877] & Elizabeth EYLES (1814-1899) who married on 16 July 1840 in Greyfriars, Newgate, London and then 2 months later emigrated from England to Nelson NZ on the MARY ANN which left Downs on 24 Sept 1841, arriving into Nelson on 8 Feb 1842
- with Thomas & Elizabeth Tidd was 6 year old Esther Tidd who was born on 18 May 1834 in England (she could have been the daughter of EITHER Thomas or Elizabeth OR daghter of both) Elizabeth had her 3 year old daughter, Ezra Eyles with her. Ezra died during the voyage on 19 Oct 1841 at Lat 30.59N Long 19.3W
- also on board the Mary Ann were Elizabeth's parents
(our Elizabeth Tidd's grandparents) Daniel & Jane (nee PRIMMER) TIDD and their 5 other children

- her father Thomas Tidd had been a Policeman in London, he became a Brewer in Nelson

(our) Elizabeth 'Bessie' TIDD married Samuel PROSSER
on 22 June 1870 in St Peter's Church, Wellington by the Reverend A. STOCK

Samuel Prosser was born in 1844 in London
- he died on 30 December 1895 aged 51
- an inquest was held in Opunake on 31 December 1896 on the body of Samuel Prosser, an old settler of the colony. A verdict of natural causes was returned
- he was buried on 31 December 1896 in Old Plot 18 (New Plot 338) - Block E at Opunake Cemetery General Interdenominational with wife Elizabeth

Elizabeth remarried on 3 March 1897 to Christopher ROWLANDS (1854-1904)
- she was 44 and he was 42
- Christopher was a Watchmaker and Jeweller in the main street of Opunake where Elizabeth's son Claude Thomas was an apprentice from 1898. In 1903 Claude took over Christopher's business with his brother Rowley (Rowland Tidd Prosser), they called it Prosser Brothers

Elizabeth & Christopher had a daughter:
#15 - Mary Elizabeth Rowlands on 14 July 1899
- Mary married Walter Ernest HOPKINS (1899-1965) in 1923
- Walter was a son of Henry HOPKINS & Annie McGREGOR
- Mary Elizabeth died in 1976 aged 77

Christopher Rowlands died on 22 December 1904 aged 50

Elizabeth died on XMAS DAY - 25 December 1934 aged 83
- she was buried on 27 December 1934 in Old Plot 18 (New Plot 338) - Block E at Opunake Cemetery General Interdenominational with her 1st husband Samuel Prosser (under the name of Rowlands)

This is a wonderful FAMILY PHOTO taken at the wedding of Samuel & Elizabeth's daughter Isabel Clare when she married Thomas Charles EVERSFIELD in 1917
- Elizabeth (now Mrs Rowlands) is seated 2nd row, far right with large feathery hat

Zoe & James had 9 (known, possibly more) children

Henry James Newman died on 8 March 1946 aged 81 in Taranaki
- he is buried in Old Plot 38 (New Plot 678) - Block K at Opunake General Cemetery Interdenominational
Zoe Ethel Newman died on 26 January 1959 aged 86
- she is buried in Old Plot 40 (New Plot 679) - Block K at Opunake (scroll to end) General Cemetery Interdenominational

- William died on 15 November 1988 aged 89
- he is buried in Old Plot 38 & 40 (New Plot 678-679) - Block K at Opunake General Cemetery Interdenominational with his parents
1903 - Zoe Newman
- Zoe died 11 May 1903 aged 10 weeks
1904 - Harry James Newman
- Harry died in 1934 aged 30
12 July 1906 - Beatrice May Newman
- Beatrice married ? COOMBES in ?
- she died in 1999 aged 93
29 October 1907 - George Edward Newman
- George died on 11 April 1989 aged 81
- he is buried in Old Plot 36 (New Plot 677) - Block K at Opunake General Cemetery Interdenominational
1910 - Alice Isabel Newman
- Alice was the flowergirl at her aunty Isobel's wedding in 1917 (her sister ALbina was the bridesmaid

- Ellen was born on 6 February 1878 in Masterton
- she was the 1st born of 12 children of William Thomas PEACOCK (1854-1922) & Eliza Perry KITE (1866-1939)

Samuel & Eliza had 3 children in New Zealand they they moved to NSW, Australia

Samuel died on 19 June 1964 aged 89 in Newcastle, NSW, Australia
Ellen died on 21 April 1973 aged 95 in Geelong, Victoria Australia

27 October 1880 - Claude Thomas Prosser
- he was born in Wellington
- Claude was the Senior Partner and Manager of the firm of Prosser Brothers. He was brought up as a watchmaker and jeweller in Opunake under Christopher Rowlands from 1898 (Christopher became Claude's stepfather in 1897) . In 1903 he took over the business in with his brother Rowley
- Claude was a member of the Opunake Mounted Rifles and the Opunake Coursing Club
- he married Alice Dorothy ROWE (1863-1946) in 1918
- Claude died on 28 August 1941 aged 60
- Alice died in 1946 aged 83

- he served in WWI at the age of 26 as Rifleman #15413 with NZEF, 9th Reinforcements 1st Battalion, E Company. His mother (now remarried) was then living in Rahotu, Taranaki
- he married Ruby Hazel GOLDSMITH (9-2-1888-1972) in 1921
- Elliot died on 7 Augst 1955 aged 64

A Caroline Alberta Prosser was born about June/July 1874 her parents were not recorded. She died as an infant and is buried in Plot unknown - Section C of E at Bolton St Cemetery, the same as Samuel James Edward & Claude Percy Tidd Prosser (above children of Elizabeth and Samuel)
