MATLACK / MATLOCK: John son of John and Hannah HORNER MATLACK, marries Hannah SHIVERS and they have 4 children (my reference)
John was born ca 1711 in Waterford, New Jersey.
He married Hannah SHIVERS, dtr of John and Sarah SHIVERS and settled in Waterford.
He died ca 1774 in Haddonfield. His will dated 24 May 1774 was probated 22 Mar 1775, mentions wife Hannah, dtrs Hannah, Sarah and Amy and children of Anna who was deceased. The family were Quakers.

MATLACK / MATLOCK: John son of Wm and Mary HANCOCK, marries Hannah HORNER and Mary LEE, there were 19 children
John was born ca 1682 in Chester, Burlington, New Jersey, son of Wm and Mary HANCOCK MATLOCK.
In 1705 before his marriage, he purchased 200 acres of land in Waterford Twp near Haddonfield. He married Hannah HORNER, 3rd mo 20 1708 in Northampton, dtr of Isaac and Lydia HORNER.
After giving birth to 3 children, Hannah died, and in 1721, John married Mary LEE, dtr of Francis LEE (no mother) who came with her parents from England. They had 19 children, the names of ten(my source) are known, but my list has 13 (so what does it matter?). John's will was probated 14 Mar 1765. The family were Quakers.

MATLACK / MATLOCK: William, born in Cromwell Bishop, England, immigrated to West New Jersey on the "KENT" in 1677
William probably born ca 1648 in Nottinghamshire County, immigrated with the first English settlers. He was a Quaker and came as a bound servant to Daniel WILLS, whom he served for four years as a carpenter. Daniel WILLS was one of the commissioners sent over by the Proprietors of the new colony to lay out the lands in New Jersey.
In Mar 1681/82, Wm married Mary HANCOCK, who came to New Jersey on the "Paradise" with her brother Timothy HANCOCK from Brayles at Warwickshire, England in 1681.
Wm bought a 100-acre tract in Chester Twp, Burlington, New Jersey in 1684 where he built his home. He and two others signed a contract with the Indian Chief TALLACA, promising "one match coat, one little runlet of rum and two bottles of rum" in exchange for defense against other Indians.
Wm served as Colony Constable, overseer of the highways, tax collector, and as a Grand Juryman. He owned 1000 acres of land near Waterford, Gloucester and Delaware townships. They were Quakers.
Mary died 11 mo. 20 1728; Wm died ca 1729 at age 91. They had 7 children (my reference).

LIPPINCOTT LINEAGE: #2. Richard marries Abigail GOODY - they come to New England in 1639 from Plymouth, Devonshire, England
Richard and wife Abigail settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts. The family later moved to Boston where they were excommunicated from the First Church [of England] for inclining toward Quaker beliefs.
In 1652, the family returned to England hoping to escape persecution as Quakers under the Puritans in New England. However, they encountered even more severe suffering when they refused to swear allegiance to Oliver Cromwell's Commonwealth government. In 1660, Richard was taken to prison along with other Friends and it was not until 1663 that King Charles granted permission for the Lippincotts and othe rFriends to return to the new World where they settled for a while in Rhode Island.
In 1665, a patent was granted to Friends for land in what is now New Jersey (West Jersey), and Richard became the largest share holder in the new colony. His home was near the present town of Shrewsbury. He was an active officer of the colony, a deputy to Governor Carteret's first assembly in 1668, and overseer of Shrewsbury for 2 years. He died in his home near Shrewsbury, New Jersey 25 Nov 1683. His will names Abigail and sons Freedom and Jacob. Abigail died 2 Jun 1697 in Monmouth County, New Jersey
Rebecca Lippincott, 2nd wife of Duncan Campbell Eldridge was a granddaughter through Richard's son Restore>James>Daniel>Micajah. No other siblings listed for Rebecca nor is there Micajah's wife, Sarah ROBERTS on the 'Borton-Kiger Families of Salem County, New Jersey'.

The family lived in Willingborough, Burlington, New Jersey where John made his will on 9 Jan 1704. It was proved 30 Dec 1709 naming wife Mary and children John and Mary, both minors.

Isaac married ca 1680, Lydia NLN, born ca 1659. His will was probated 5 Sept 1709 and names wife 3 dtrs and 3 sons.

John was born in 1759. He married Rachel SQUIRE, dtr of Benjamin SQUIRE (no wife). She was born in Westfield, in 1757 and died 23 Nov 1827 in Westfield, age 70. John died at age 77 on 10 Sept 1836 in Westfield.
