Have a birth certificate for child born 1907, 'adopted' by another family approx 1910. Birth parents believed to have gone to sea, do not know where, father Merchant navy on birth cert. listed as Marine fireman. Cannot trace either through mother or fathe

name of either parent (assuming they were not married). All documentation destroyed when adoptive mother died. Where do we go from here? Have tried various websites for a number of years without any 'takers'.
