Clifton A. Christian, 80

EAST LIVERPOOL Lifetime East Liverpool resident Clifton A. Christian died at the age of 80 on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 12:15 p.m. Recently of West Sixth Street, he passed away at East Liverpool City Hospital surrounded by his family following a brief illness.

Born on Oct. 26, 1934 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late William Louis and Willie Eva Allen Christian.

He was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1952. In 1958, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and later was active with the U.S. Army Reserves.

He worked for the former Crucible Steel Company from 1953 until his retirement in 1984. Following his retirement, he worked for East Liverpool City Hospital in the laundry department.

An active member of the Second Baptist Church, he had served the church in nearly every capacity. Currently, he was treasurer, active with the Seasoned Saints Ministry, a deacon in training, a member of the Nehemiah Club and assisted with the feeding program. At one time, he had been head trustee, a member of the usher board, and a member of the choir.

He was a member of the East Liverpool High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, a life-time NAACP member, a founding member of the Emanon Club and recently he had been attending bi-weekly meetings with the men's group at Casa de Emmanuel.

At one time he was a member of the East Liverpool Health Board and served as president of the board of the Community Resource Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Wilson of Lancaster, Pa.; one brother, William A. Christian of East Liverpool; and his extended family whom he loved, the Austin family. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.

Clifton was preceded in death by four sisters: Doris Ann Campbell, Geraldine Christian, Cornell Nizer and Eleanor Jane Christian; and four brothers: Charles Christian, Wesley Christian, Raymond Christian and Roy Christian, as well as a longtime companion, Alice Austin.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Rev. Ernest Peachey of the church will officiate at a funeral service to be held at the Second Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will take place at the Calcutta Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Second Baptist Church for continued remembrance.

Nicolas Joseph DeSarro, 25

WELLSVILLE - Nicolas Joseph DeSarro, 25, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, at Trinity Medical Center West following a work related accident.

He was born Nov. 11, 1989, in Steubenville, the son of Michael DeSarro of Wellsville and Shelley (Grimm) Westfall and her husband, Tom, of Quaker City.

Nick graduated from Wellsville High School in 2008. He was employed for two weeks as a forklift operator at the Walmart Distribution Center in Wintersville. He was an assistant coach and strength coach for the Wellsville Tigers football team, as well as a firefighter with the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department. Nick was an avid Notre Dame football fan, and he enjoyed theater and horseback riding. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his twin brother: Michael DeSarro and his wife, Stacey, of Austintown; his sister: Angie McDermott and her husband, Shawn, of Beach City, Ohio; maternal grandparents: Ricky and Barbara Riggs of Carrollton; two step-sisters: Tori and Savannah Westfall of Quaker City; one step-brother: Dylan Westfall of Florida; two nephews: Jake and Mack McDermott of Beach City, Ohio; and his godchild: AJ Ferguson of Youngstown. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly. Nick was expecting a daughter, Adriana Ann, with his girlfriend, Yakira Stein, in June.

Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Charles Grimm, Sr.; and his paternal grandparents: Frank and Anna DeSarro.

The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church with Rev. Daniel Cipar presiding and Pastor Ricky Riggs speaking.

Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wellsville High School Gymnasium, 1 Bengal Blvd in Wellsville.

Ruby M. Geer Talbot, 86

CENTERBURG, Ohio - Ruby M. Geer Talbot, 86, of Vanatta Road, Centerburg, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015.

She was born on July 30, 1928, in New Cumberland, the daughter of Paul O. and Cecil (Keeper) Geer.

Ruby enjoyed watching the birds she took care of, working in her flower garden or sitting in her chair doing a puzzle book. She also liked listening to old country gospel music and taking care of her canine companions, Sassy and Bo.

Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Marvin (Cindy) Talbot of Hot Springs, Ark., Dennis Talbot of Centerburg, Sandra (Donn) McClary of Centerburg, Shirley (Dave) Graham of Columbus, and Richard Talbot of Danville; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: David (Audrey) Geer and George (Catherine) Geer, and two sisters: Mable Geer Mink and Martha Geer Streets, all of Chester.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Talbot; four sons, Donald P. Talbot, Edwin Talbot, Larry Talbot and Kenneth Talbot; and a brother, Clyde Geer.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Marvin Haught will be officiating.

Kelly Marie Mobley, 36

EAST LIVERPOOL - Kelly Marie Mobley, 36 of East Liverpool, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015.

Born on April 24, 1978 in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was the daughter of John Mobley of Wellsville and Jessica (Buckel) Mobley of East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, surviving are two daughters, Kaylee Colgrove and Addison Colgrove of East Liverpool.

Kelly was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Phyllis Buckel; and paternal grandparents, Norman and Bertha Mobley.

Visitation will be held 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 with a funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, W.Va.

Emil ‘Moe’ Roslovic, 90

MIDLAND - Emil 'Moe' Roslovic, 90 of Midland passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born June 19, 1924 in Midland, he was a son of the late Joseph and Sarah Mercon Roslovic and had been a resident of Midland all of his life. A 1942 graduate of Lincoln High School, Midland, he was a faithful member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Midland. Moe had retired from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries in Midland where he had worked in the metallurgical department for over 35 years. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during WW II and was a member of the Midland American Legion and the American Yugoslav Club, Midland.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were three sisters, Mildred Beaver, Mary Rajsich, Mitzi Kragulac and a brother, Nick Roslovic.

He is survived by his lifelong friend, Mary Pat Farnan, Midland, a sister, Daisy Sobat, Midland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 12 noon in the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church by Father Branislav Golic. Interment with full military rites by the Midland American Legion will follow at the Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com. Gary R. Durham, 79

EAST PALESTINE - Gary R. Durham, 79 of Jefferson St. in Newell passed away at Covington Skilled Rehabilitation Center in East Palestine on Friday April 3, 2015. He had been at Covington for the past 6 months.

Born to Arnie and Marilou Dinkins Durham in High Point, N.C. on Nov. 5, 1935, Gary's family moved to the Newell area when he was only 2 years old.

Earlier he had been employed at the former Knowles Pottery and Gary retired from the former Waterford Park as the head of Security.

He was an active supporter of the Newell First Presbyterian Church where he and his wife Charlotte who preceded him in death were very active members.

Gary was a 1953 graduate of the former Wells High School in Newell and he enjoyed being a member of the East Liverpool Elks Lodge #258, the Sons of the American Legion at Post 114 in Newell, and the Chester VFW Post 6450.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Cynthia Monte and husband Ralph of East Liverpool, and Kimberly McPherson and husband Brent of East Liverpool, and his sons, Chris Durham of Clearwater, Fla.; and Richard Durham and wife Linda of Canfield.

In addition he leaves eleven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday April 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at which time his grandson, Rev. Samuel Monte and Rev. Dr. Matthew Camlin of the church will celebrate Gary's life with a memorial service. He will be entombed with his wife Charlotte at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens in Newell.

Bernard E. Beaver, 68

EAST LIVERPOOL - Bernard E. Beaver, 68, of East Liverpool passed away peacefully, at Kindred Heritage Valley in Beaver, on Wednesday April 1, 2015.

He was a son of the late Clarence and Violet Carpenter Beaver and was born on July 29, 1946 in East Liverpool.

Bernard owned and operated Beaver milk hauling for many years.

He was a fan of outdoor activities enjoying fishing, hunting, and building and racing dune buggies. He also liked to fly remote control helicopters with his friends.

He held membership with the Potter's pool league, The Orioles and the Beagle Clubs of East Liverpool.

Bernard was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Robert 'Bob', Vance 'Butch' Beaver; sister, Patricia 'Pat' Weyand; nephew, Jimmy Beaver and former wife, Judith Perkins.

Bernard is survived by his daughters, Kathy Palmer and her husband JR of East Liverpool and Carol Beaver and her fiance, Mike McKenna of Pittsburgh; granddaughter Mackenzie Palmer of East Liverpool; brother, Ted Beaver of East Liverpool; sister, Kay Beaver (Gary Great house) and Brenda Pugh both of East Liverpool.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester with Pastor Thomas Schneidmiller officiating.

Jane Ann (Chandler) Mason, 74

MENTOR - Jane Ann (Chandler) Mason, age 74, formerly of Chester, WV. went to be with her Lord in the early hours of April 2, 2015, two weeks shy of her 75th birthday while under the care of the Hospice of the Western Reserve at Kemper House of Mentor. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.R. "Pete" Chandler and Helen (Lewis) Chandler, and her husband of nearly 50 years Walter H. Mason.

Mrs. Mason is survived by her son John Chandler Mason (Joan Moore) of Wilmington, Del. and daughter Helen Mason Suchy (Ronald) of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; grandchildren Joshua Morgan Mason, Daniel Taylor Mason, Ann Elisabeth Suchy and Joseph Walter Suchy; her sister Hester (Chandler) Werner of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Mason was a graduate of Chester High School in Chester, W.Va. and West Virginia University with a degree in elementary education and advanced study in the education of gifted children. She taught in Morgantown, W.Va; New Orleans, La.; and Wheeling, W.Va. She also worked for several years at the Upton's gift shop within Wilson Lodge at Oglebay Park. Mrs. Mason was a giving spirit who committed herself to her family, her church and her community.A model of volunteerism, her contributions are too many to list. She was especially committed to her church, particularly children's programs, and was an ordained deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She was proud to be a survivor of breast cancer, and her loss is deeply felt by all who love her.

Throughout her life, she was beloved by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Mason desired to eradicate diseases including Lewy Body Dementia and breast cancer. She furthered this goal through her final gift, donating her earthly body to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for research and study. A memorial service will be held at Lyndhurst Community Presbyterian Church at 5321 Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst, Ohio on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. Family will receive friends at a dessert reception following the service from 7-9 p.m. in LCPC's Bloomfield Hall. Francis ‘Frank’ M. Eisenman, 78

COLUMBIANA - Francis 'Frank' M. Eisenman, of Columbiana, went home to be with His Lord on April 3, 2015 after a fearless battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 78.

Frank was born on Dec. 19, 1936 in Olean, New York, a son of Francis and Rosalind Eisenman.

He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Dennison, Ohio in 1954. Following graduation, Frank served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1963 as an aerial photographer. Upon discharge, he moved to California and attended the Art Center School in L.A. He then went to work at Data Corporation in Dayton where he developed negatives for NASA. From 1971 to 1999 he was a truck driver for Anchor Motor Freight where he touched many lives along the way.

Frank continued his passion for art and photography over the years, winning awards for photography and having art exhibits at libraries and churches. He visited the Butler Art Museum of Youngstown almost weekly. He also enjoyed music, theology, men's ministries, and maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

As a born again Christian, and patriarch of his family, Frank had affiliations with Abundant Life Fellowship in New Waterford since 1984 and The Lord's Community Church in East Liverpool since 2011. He instilled love, kindness, and integrity into his daughters and grandchildren as he encouraged their walks in faith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marsha (Myers) Eisenman whom he married May 21, 1964. Also surviving are five cherished daughters, Bambi Eisenman, Anna Frantz, Heather (Kurt) Lindsley, Rachel (Jason) Eisenman, and Rebekah Eisenman; sisters Rosalind (Dave) Hooker, Edie Walsh, and Ellen (Fran) Eisenman; 12 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mark, and brother-in-law Joe Walsh.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday April 7 at Abundant Life Fellowship, 46469 OH-46, New Waterford, OH 44445. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday April 6 at Abundant Life Fellowship and also one hour before services.

Interment will follow at New Waterford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Frank's memory to Lord's Community Church, 519 Jackson Street, East Liverpool, Ohio 43920.

Tammy Sue Thompson, 43

WELLSVILLE - Tammy Sue Thompson, 43, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 25, 1971, in Salem, the daughter of Mona Ritchea of Salem and the late Scotty Ritchea.

Tammy graduated from Salem High School in 1989. She was employed as a manager at Rich Oil.

Survivors include her husband, Alvan "Dopesy" Thompson, whom she married March 23, 2013; one daughter: Destinee Spann of Wellsville; one son: Joshua Van Horn and his wife, Jackie, of East Liverpool; four step-daughters: Sabrina Thompson, Natalie Thompson, and Amyiah (MiMi) Powell, all of Wellsville, and Olivia Wells of Lisbon; one step-son: James Wells of Lisbon; and one sister: Janice Rosa of Orlando, Fla. Also surviving are her niece and nephew: Chloe and Alex Rosa of Orlando, Fla., and her grandson: Dominic Van Horn.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home.
