Linden J. McDevitt, 83
EAST LIVERPOOL - Linden J. McDevitt, 83 of East Liverpool passed away at The Orchards of East Liverpool, on Tuesday March 31, 2015.
He was a son of the late Arthur and Aida Hindes McDevitt and was born on July 16, 2015.
Linden was a graduate of East Liverpool high school. Following graduation he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Europe.
A Union Carpenter with Local #171, Linden was a member of the East Liverpool American Legion and VFW Post #66. He was an avid golfer with several holes in one to his credit. Linden was very proud to contribute to the U.S. Olympics by donating as often as possible.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur 'Bud', Robert 'Bob', and Richard 'Dick' McDevitt; and his sisters, Mary McDevitt, Patricia Culp, June Simcox and Katherine 'Katie' Maloney.
Surviving is his brother, Gary McDevitt of Surprise, Ariz.; sisters, Lucille Smith of Calcutta, Elsie Jenkins of Navarre, Ohio. and Hannah Flynn of East Palestine.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Orchards of East Liverpool and the Hospice of Austintown for the compassion and care given to Linden in his time of need.
In fulfilling Linden's wishes, no services are being held and he is in the care of the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester.

Carl Densmore
CLYDE, Ohio - Carl Devon Densmore, 86, of Clyde, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, on Monday, March 30, 2015.
He was born on March 26, 1929, in East Liverpool, to the late James "Lloyd" and Chloras (Barrett) Densmore.
He was a 1947 graduate of East Liverpool High School.
Mr. Densmore retired from the United States Air Force, after serving 30 years, where he was involved in the Pacific Theater of WWII and the Korean Conflict. A senior Master Sergeant, he served his last duty in Sandusky as a recruiting officer.
Survivors include his wife, Orpha (Pritchard) Densmore; a son, Bob Densmore; three daughters, Carla Densmore-Price, Kim Likes, and Lisa Wightman; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Jo Gates and Linda Crawford.
Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bardshar Road, Sandusky, Ohio. Services begin at 7 with military honors, provided by the USAF, followed immediately by a memorial service with Rev. Phil Gardner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, is handling arrangements.

Roger Shook
LEETONIA - Roger L. Shook, 68, of Miller Road, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Monday. March 30, 2015 at Hospice House, Poland, where he had been a patient.
He was born Feb. 22, 1947 in East Liverpool, a son of the late James and Bernice Talbot Shook. He had been employed with Kaiser Aluminum, and later NRM, prior to his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
His wife, the former Gail Snyder, survives him; as do two daughters, Cinniamon Hoover, Lisbon, and Tanya Gula, Aliquippa, Pa. He also leaves a brother, James Shook, Lisbon, and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Pastor Scott Deitch of East Liverpool, officiating. Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4579 and the American Legion Post 31. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
