This is my 3g grandfather, Thomas Roads MERRY who was born 16 Oct 1815 Steeple Claydon, Buckinghamshire, England, and died in his 78th year 13 March 1893 Steeple Claydon.

He married Kitty SEAR in 1838 and they had a large family of 11 children, with two of their sons emigrating to Australia. Namely William and Arthur. Arthur Ernest Rhodes MERRY was grandfather of my grandmother.

We'll probably never know who the three people are in this photograph, but it certainly gives you an image of the times.

After staring at all these photos for some time, I think that there are photos of this fellow as a little boy and then later on aged around 10yrs.

My sister had a go at restoring this photograph as it was in a really dreadful state. At first glance before restoration it looked like picture was of a young girl, but is really of a boy.

So sad not to know who they all were. Picture probably from NSW.
