There were 3 Holmes brothers James, John and William shipbuilders originally from England but came to Devonport NZ built original ferries to ply the Devonport people to Auckland and back then built the Flagstaff Hotel in Devonport to accommodate the passengers.
please can anyone help with their history - William and Ann elizabeth Holmes (nee curtis) were my grandparents.
