I'm not sure why Sarah gave her birth place as South Australia when she married William.
It appears Sarah's first marriage was to Robert Richard SMITH in 1886. Sarah gave her birth place as Geelong. The only child located for them was Eveline Pearl SMITH, born and died 1890 in Port Melbourne, Victoria, aged 07 weeks. A divorce appears to have taken place because Robert remarried in 1897 to Ann Jane STEVENS. When Sarah married William she married under her maiden name of TODD.
