READ PAGE A for information on what this posting is about.
Auckland Council provided Native Affairs with the names of the 1800 people but, as you will see at the above link, they do not contain any ages or other identifiable info, which is why I have expanded the list here to help you recognise any possible ancestors. Each and every person has been individually researched; using BDM, Papers Past, the cemetery database, family trees or any other means which revealed some of the names (spelling) or dates, differ slightly from the list - this is pointed out on each.
. NOTES .
* lack of time means I have not looked for all maiden names, nor to link all parents or partners, but will come back to edit from time to time.
* same surnames grouped together does not necessarily mean they were related.
* dates could be of death or burial
* my edits & additions will be obvious
* further info may be found Waikumete Cemetery on Find A Grave

Bay of Plenty Times, 8 Oct 1936 We regret to have to record the death of two very highly respected settlers of many years standing in Katikati in the late Mr Jean Albert and Mrs Anna Diggelmann. The late Mrs Diggelmann died on Sunday after a short attack of pneumonia and Mr Diggelmann who was at the same time suffering from pneumonia succumbed on Tuesday night at eight o'clock. Mr and Mrs Diggelmann were each 74 years of age and were born in Switzerland. A family of four children remain to mourn their loss, Mrs G. Tetley (Emma Ida) of Katikati; Miss Anna Diggelmann also of Katikati; Mr Hermann Diggelmann of Otahuhu and Mr B. (Bruno). Diggelmann of Katikati.
Last week Mr Herman Diggelmann met with a serious accident when motoring to his parents' home and had to be taken to the Auckland Hospital. Miss Anna Diggelmann who was living with her parents is suffering from a serious attack of pneumonia.
The late Mr Diggelmann came to New Zealand about fifty-five years ago. He was for some time working on the ostrich farm at Clevedon, afterwards taking up 300 acres of land at what is now known as Diggelmann Point. Soon after settling in Katikati he married and had made one of the finest farms in the district, completing about fifty years on the original block.
The late Mr Diggelmann was an industrious and hard working man and was held in the highest respect by those with whom he came in contact. The late Mrs Diggelmann was also greatly respected and was prominent as a worker and exhibitor at the Katikati Agricultural and pastoral show where she won many prizes. A sense of deep regret and sympathy with the bereaved family is shared in the district.
