Looking for KENNEDY Families in Ashburton New Zealand & more importantly where they originated please.

Have searched off & on to learn where the ancestors of Thomas, Euena KENNEDY originated. Was it somewhere in Scotland or Ireland?

John Peace Shearer b: c1850 Stronsay, Orkney Islands, Scotland came with his brother Peter to Leestpm & settled Ashburton, Canterbury NZ around 1870 where he became well known throughout NZ as a fine breeder of Clydesdale Horses and farmer.

John Peace Shearer's 1st marriage was to a Margaret GILMOUR from Paisley Scotland & 2nd marriage to a (I only think) Sarah KENNEDY. which from that marriage Ian & his sister were born.

Hope another keen researcher can assist me in my drawn out search.

My appreciation to all who have any suggestions whatsoever.

Thankyou,

Tiffaney
