William Stubbs Information (England to Ontario Canada)

I am looking for any information on my GGGrandfather William Stubbs, who married Jane McMinn around 1848. When he moved to Ontario,Canada he initially settled in Weston,York, Ontario for a short period before moving to Listowel Ontario where he took up farming and raised a family. He was originally from Yorkshire England (I believe). Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jackie, so far I have had no luck, I think I am going to try the DNA test soon to see where that ends up. I live in Ontario as well (Barrie)

Is there any other information you can provide as I have searched the UK GRO records I can find no marriage between a Stubbs and a McMinn that occurred from 1840 to 1860.

Their marriage took place in Canada, I believe it was in Weston,York ,Ontario.
I can trace the family back to Listowel but that is as far as I can find any information. One of my cousins gave me the information about Weston, but I have been unable to find anything on it. I dont know if he had other family members move to Canada with him or where his family was from in Yorkshire.
