Clarence William George 'Clarrie' Timperley (1899-1980)
* son of Joseph Edward Timperley & Janet Margaret Ann Howie of Whangarei
- married Hilda Emma Kate MOREY (1905-1996) in 1925

Ernest Edward 'Ernie' Timperley (1884-1916)
* son of Ezra & Sarah Timperley of Lancashire, emigrated into Wellington 16 June 1906 on the 'Oswestry Grange'
- married Constance Amy LATTO (1892-1960) in 1914. There were no children.
- Constance was born 27 Feb 1892, to Janet Latto (nee HISLOP 1864-1922), 4 years after her father had deserted the family (read her notes below). Her mother Janet Hislop first married David Latto (1859-1926) of Scotland in 1881, settled in Kaiapoi and had 4 children from 1883 to 1887. David then deserted the family, went to Western Australia, then in 1888 in Melbourne, he married (bigamously) Anne VALENTINE (read the story at his link). Janet next married Charles Herbert BECKETT (1863-1948) in 1896. No children found at this time
Evening Post, 6 March 1916
The death occurred in a private hospital on Saturday, after a serious operation, of Mr Ernie Timperley. Deceased, who was connected with the firm of Messrs Brodick and Co., was well known in Wellington amongst cricket and association football enthusiasts and as a member of the T.M.C.A. Club was considered one of the cleverest forwards in the Wellington representative team until ill-health compelled him to give up the game. Mr Timperley's good nature and cheerful disposition won him many friends. He has left a widow.

NOTE Adelaide was the eldest of 3 daughters so 1 more to find .. great write-up on Adelaide She & her sister Carrie had a boutique in Kawakawa for many years, before she moved to Auckland to train as a hairdresser. She married Gordon 'Murray' Priebe in Sep 1932, then returned to Kawakawa, where she and her husband took over Harry Priebe's (Murray's father) Unisex barber shop, the first of its kind in the North and rather progressive for those days. The couple left Kawakawa for Warkworth in the late 1940s to open a milk bar and fruit shop and to build their first home. It wasn't long before they were back in the North, in Hikurangi, where Eunice opened a hair salon and Murray a panel beating shop.

PRIEBE, Adelaide Eunice. (Eunice) Passed away peacefully 12th August 2018, in Maungaturoto rest home; aged 100. Loved wife of the late Gordon (Murray). Will be dearly missed by Pat and Steve, and Sarah-Jane George (now Gray) and Soren Gray; Michael, Shelly, and family; Paul, Lenie, and family; and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service for Eunice will be held in the Chapel of Morris and Morris Funerals (entrance 17 Western Hills Drive) Whau Valley, Whangarei, on Saturday, 18th August 2018, at 1:30pm, followed by a private cremation.

Constance Amy Timperley (nee LATTO) (1893-1960)

- married Thomas Henry NORTON in 1891 & had 12 children (the list at her link). Thomas was a son of Jeremiah & Ann Norton - THEREFORE: Ethel's mother Ann married her sons father in law, thereby making her William's mother & also his step mother in law!!
* Ethel's family tell me that Ethel left the family about 1914 and went to Christchurch. She took 5 year old Ruby & 2 year old Ernie with her. Not known if she remarried

Ida Timperley (1839-1914)
* daughter of Samuel Timperley (1806-1869) & Lucy Dale (1817-1890) who married in Wilsow, emigrated to NZ and died in Northland
- married Samuel HOLT (1837-1909) in New Zealand 25 June 1872. This was a 'NZ remarriage' (or just when the marriage was NZ registered) as they married March-June 1865 on board the 'Resolute' from Glasgow (14 March) on the way to Auckland (21 June). Also on board were John & Samuel Dale, probably brothers? of Lucy
Daily Southern Cross, 22 June 1865 .. There was likewise a marriage on board the ship, between two passengers named Samuel Holt and Ida Temperley, who were joined in the bonds of wedlock by Captain Wallace, in the presence of a large assemblage of passengers.

my hero ngairedith. there must be a lot of cretins and/or lazy Timperleys on this web site if you have to submit this list of marriages which is freely available and easily interpreted on www.bdmonline.dia.govt.nz/
do some real difficult research.

Petherick, you seem very quick to insult others and assume they are somewhat stupid. I take it that you were all knowledgeable when you first started. I know that I wasn't. These notes are essential to new folk and those who don't otherwise know of these sites.
