Geneva Brinkman was my grandmother. She married Vernon Brinkman when she was quite young, I think she was only 16 - moving from Tennessee (where she lived with an Aunt and Uncle) to Indianapolis where she lived with Vernon until his death in the early 70's. They had the following children Roberta(Morgan); David; Patricia (Hicks); Thomas 1945 (my father); and John. David passed away two years ago... all her other children are still alive and with the exception of Thomas who lives in CT, still reside in the Indianapolis area.

Geneva and Vernon raised their family farming on the land of a rather famous man, Skiles Test, you can look up "The House of Blue Lights" in Indianapolis to find out more, there is a website now with some old photos. Geneva mentioned her brother, and during my last visit out to the midwest (I've always lived in CT, as Thomas (my dad) moved up here after he was stationed at Westover when he was in the airforce)... my father mentioned meeting Edward once when he visited the farm, likely in the 50's. There was some reason why the two weren't allowed to visit often but no one really knows the story or why. There is also some rumors that Geneva's father wasn't really the man her mother was married to but a Doctor who in turn put her mother into a TB hospital when she didn't have TB and she died very young (which is why Geneva ended up living with Alice and Archie). I can't recall the name of the doctor but have seen a photo of him.

Geneva was a warm and loving lady, and quite beautiful. She died about 10 years ago and is greatly missed.

I hope this is helpful! Feel free to contact me with more questions, I'd like to learn more about Eddie (that is what Geneva called him).

Be well,

Tanya
