I am researching Andrew Dykes family for the daughter of James Semple Dykes. They lived at Kirkwood House, Avondale, Strathavon, Lanarkshire & immigrated to New Zealand. Do you have any idea why the family went to New Zealand? I do know that the names Loudon & Semple are names of people who married into the family. Delighted that you have made contact re Dykes family. Yes we know quite a lot about the family that went to NZ and have family history records regarding them. I have been also in contact with another member of the family who lives in Northumberland, UK and she has give us lots of help. We would love to exchange family history information with you.
My husband's Great Grandfather was Andrew Dykes from Kirkwood House.
It will be great to hear about another part of this family. We do also have family photos.
