Have just looked at this site again-hope you are still active. William James Mains ,son of Duncan Mains and Elizabeth Paterson.Born 1876 in Otepopo. N.Z. Married Rachel Boot 19/4/1906 in Dunedin at Roslyn Pres. Church. His parents were well known farming family from Otepopo. The family moved to Auckland about 1875-1878. William was one of the first Lay Preachers in Auckland. He had two children; Neil b.1907 and Kathleen b.unknown. There are several articles mentioning William and his wife, to be found in Papers Past in the Auckland papers.
