My ancestry roots are

John Married Ellen Stead in 1839 in Manchester. Ellen is the daughter of William Stead and his wife Maria (lead to beleive Maiden name of Oldham)

John and Ellen had 9 children, the first four where born in England - Maria, William, Ann and William 2nd prior to moving to Australia where they continued their family with Charlotte, Henry (My 2nd Great Grandfather to his wife Mary Victoria CANDY), Ellen, Mary and Issac.

Hi Ky-Lee you are definately part of the book called the Hillery Heritage. John arrived with his wife Ellen on 12/2/1842 . They brought out their surviving two children a daughter and a son, 6years and ll months respectively at the time of the depature. Ellen was the daughter of William and Maria Stead who lived at Salford in Coounty Lancashire where William was employed as a cotton spinner. Ellen was baptised on Friday 15/10/1813 in the Cathedral Church of St. Mary, st Denys and St George in Manchester or Manchester Cathedral as it is more commonly known. John was the son of Ann/e and Joseph Hillery, who are known to have lived in Manchester. He had two brothers Henry Deighton and William were baptised in Manchester Cathedral September 1804 and Whitsunday 25 May 1806 respectively. Well Ky-Lee as you can see I have a lot of information from the book Hillerys Heritage. My husband is related through the Halton/Everitt side of the Hillery Heritage. I would love to chat with you at some stage but dont know how to get you my number so it is private. Hope this has given you a small taste of the History the book is about 490 pages so it has a lot of info but a lot is still not there. Take care relo Kerry
