James williams convict.

Journal by terrythom

I have just found this site and was very excited to read
all of the information enclosed. I am descended from
Catherine Hancey and James Williams from son George
Williams.I have found their graves in St Peters cemetery in
Maitland. I must have many hundreds of cousins around
N.S.W.
They certainly left their mark on the relatively new
colony of N.S.W.
I have been to the church in the UK where James was
christened East Knoyle in Somerset.

Hi Terry,
Please contact me on the e-mail address I sent you privately. My line of descent goes from James and Catherine, through Matilda Lucinda Williams who married Charles Kerr (haven't been able to trace back further on that line yet). Their daughter Isabella Jane Kerr married Francis Staader, had several children with him, then another couple of children with an unknown father (we think he might be Charles Johnson), before marrying Herbert Cramp (several years younger than herself) and producing Dorothy Grace Cramp, my grandmother. I'm in contact with some of the descendants of Matilda's and Isabella's children.

Glynne (born in Tamworth but now living in Somerset -- less than 20 miles from East Knoyle where James Williams was born --- how things go in circles!!)
