searching for anyone or anything on my great grandfather Charles Louis Colwell here is what information i have. it was told to me by my grandmother his daughter Anita colwell.
Charles was born in mason county, west virginia on 5-7-1882 i believe that his mother was Eliza Catherine Colwell and that he had been born out of wedlock and was raised by his mothers parents. Charles had many wives and many children 2 of which were bron from a marriage with Mabel Workman. Anita Colwell born in 1926 and a brother named Charles. my grandmother did not really know or care to know her father very much. her mother and brother charles moved back from west virginia dn lived in cenral ohio.
Charles first wife was Ada Buzzard and they had several children, she died and he married my great grandmother mabel. I was told that he was a coal miner by trade. i believe he is buried in Hawk's cemetary in kanawah county west virginia he died in 1951 or 1952. if anyone is connected to him in anyway i would love to hear from you!! i cannot find out who his father may have been and anything on that part of my family.
