Don't know how many children John & Ruth had before they emigrated to NZ, but they had at least 9 children in NZ. Ruth died 1 Oct 1898 aged 67. Haven't found her burial. Their 2 year old daughter, Ruth Emerson (1872-1874) is buried at Barbadoes cemetery, Christchurch.

Do you know that John remarried in 1903 to Mary Jane Dix (nee Kennell 1855-1930). John was aged 70 & Mary Jane was 48.
Mary had first married William Henry Dix in 1875 & had 6 children.

John died 12 June 1920 aged 87, at his residence, 12 Henley St., Mt Albans, Christchurch.
Mary Jane died 7 Sep 1940 aged 85
They are buried together Plot 72, Block 29 at Bromley cemetery

Yes I did knew he was married twice,but I am trying to find Johns great great grandparents.All I know is that his father is William Emmison (1795 and Ruth berry 1804 (St Mary's Nottingham).

Yes I know Lemerson, BUT the more info and names you publish in connection to him then the more someone else might recognise him in their family history and they could come and give you more information and might even know who his great, great, grandfather was .. the more info you provide the more likely to jog memories, so add every little thing you can think of

John did have a child Rhichard Henry Natty Emerson (nz) and Richard had a child called Albert Aurther Emerson and if it helps he was in ww1, but we have those records

John Emerson was in a household with William Emmison, George Emmison, Eliza Emmison and Sara Emmison(berry)
