- Son of Victor Douglas STONE and Ella Mary MOORE

Left school and worked for an uncle who was a hairdresser to help support his mother and two siblings

Hairdresser for John A. KENNY at Mackie's Buildings, 19 Macpherson Street, Carnamah 1932-1934

In early October 1934 he opened his own Hairdressing Saloon and Tobacconist Shop at Nind's Buildings in Carnamah

Nind's Buildings were at 27 Macpherson Street, on the north east corner of Niven Crescent and Macpherson Street

Undertook gents' and ladies' hairdressing, including coiffure, bobbing, shingling, marcel waving, shampooing and setting

Visited the town of Coorow to do hairdressing every Wednesday afternoon

Advertised his hairdressing business in the local North Midland Times newspaper

Local distributor for the Charities Consultations lottery, his clients winning a prize in eight consecutive draws in 1935

From October 1935 he was a sub-agent for Malvern Star cycles through district agent Alexander R. G. BARR of Three Springs

On becoming a sub-agent for Malvern Star cycles he had a "Stock Model Machine" at his shop in Carnamah

Resided at Chitter and Flo BROWN's boarding house "Carnamah Hostel" at 13-15 Caron Street, Carnamah

He assisted freely with local activities and took an active and prominent part in the sporting and social bodies in Carnamah

He was invalided back to Australia suffering from Malaria, after which he spent a year at the Northam Hospital in Northam

Discharged from the Australian Army on 23 November 1944

Miss Olive M. CONNOLLY visited him once a week at the hospital in Northam, and after six months he asked her to marry him

He was briefly released from hospital for their marriage ceremony, which took place in Arrino

After being released from hospital he started his own hairdressing business in the then just completed Ahern's Arcade in Perth

Later left Perth and shifted with his wife to Dongara where they owned and ran a piggery and tomato farm

Formed a local orchestra in Dongara - with himself on the cornet, his wife on the drums and Peter BEATON on the piano

Resided in Dongara until his death in 1961

Died 26 February 1961 in Geraldton;
