Lockley, Hunter, Holden, Reed, Willcocks of Junee/ Paramatta NSW

Journal by Staffordshire

My Gt Gt. Uncle was Thomas Lockley who arrived in Sydney 1879 and married Ellen Hunter from Lancashire -a widow.
She had a daughter Parthenia and then they had two more children together, Frederick Charles and Isabella.

Any information on his descendants would be wonderful.

Thomas Lockley was my Great Grandfather. My Grandfather was Frederick Charles (Charlie). Ellen had two children before she married Thomas: Bertha and Albert. Following her marriage to Thomas she had Christina (Tinie) and Charlie.

Lovely to hear from you. Good morning Australia

What a lot of name changes our family had. Parthenia becoming Bertha for a start and many others known by their middle names. Just what we need when researching!
I started looking for Thomas about 8 years ago and it's been an incredible journey. No one knew he had gone to Australia and I was ignoring his second marriage (Ellen) until I had checked out every Thomas left in this country. Once done I knew Thomas had left these shores. Surprise!

You probably know that he was the eldest of five (surviving) brothers and my line comes from the middle one -Samuel who was my Gt Grandfather. My grandfather was Edward Reginald known as Reg who named his son Charles Frederick-known as Fred. Strange that Thomas's son was Frederick Charles - known as Charlie
All of Thomas's brothers had sons named Thomas.Maybe after your Gt Grandfather or his father - another Thomas
I have photographs of both your Grandfather's & Gt Grandfathers graves.

So Isabel Christina chose to be Christina, or Tinie?

I'm so pleased that Thomas had more children in Australia and was able restart his life. I have become very attached to him over the years. My research has probably run into thousands of hours so we spent alot of time together!! In the last year I have collected just about all evidence of his life as possible to have - apart from a photograph
I am now considering writing a book of his life for the family. Only need time and the winter months
If I can answer any specific queries please ask and it's really lovely to discover a relative of such a remarkable man
