Looking for birth records of Annie Maria KELLY born around 1880 in Victoria Australia

Query by Haggie

Looking to learn more about my father's mother, Annie Maria LYONS nee KELLY.
Annie was born around 1880 in Victoria, Australia. Annie married James Charles LYONS in 1903 in Melbourne Victoria. Her marriage certificate details her age then as 23, occupation domestic servant and her parents were Daniel KELLY and Margaret KELLY nee COSTELLO (COSTELLOE).
I have not been able to find a birth or baptism record for an Annie KELLY, parents Daniel and Margaret KELLY in either Victoria or New South Wales.

Hi Haggie.

I rechecked the VBI for the birth of your Annie but she is not there, nor can I find her birth in any other Australian state.

There are only three births recorded to her parents after they were married in 1869.

1. Thomas James b.1870 Collingwood, Victoria.

2. Daniel b.1871 - d.1875 Melbourne, Victoria.

3. John b.1875 Melbourne, Victoria.

It looks like Daniel and Margaret also had a daughter named Mary Ann that died in Melbourne in 1874 aged 9 months, but I have not been able to locate her birth in the records.

Ta Tonkin.
Yep that is all I could find too. Most likely Mary Ann died age 9 months without a birth or baptism record. Not unusual in those days.
Next step is to found out if baptism records in Victoria are available from that period.
Not out of the question is Annie may have been part aboriginal and her birth was never registered. No idea how to answer that theory.
