John Henry Levett arrived in NSW as a convict. First Marriage Abigail Brown issue John Henry Levett, died Quandary 1870. Second marriage Mary Ann Clark, issue Vine Julia, Josiah, William, Emmeline, Arthur, Aidelong.
John Levett had depasture licence at Grogan 1840-1851, ran Bangus Inn 1854-1856. Died Tumut 1872.
Trying to establish history of John Levett and family from 1856 to 1872.

On the 17th June 1845, John Levett, a coach guard, was entrusted to deliver ?25 on behalf of Henry Cloake. The money never arrived, and John Levett, who had hitherto been in financial difficulty, was suddenly able to clear his debts with local pubs and buy new clothes.
Date Tried: 30th June 1845, Sussex Quarter Sessions, Lewes
Sentence: To be transported for ten years..."
