LOOKING FOR EMMA DALTON'S MOTHER

Query by Gnet

Emma Dalton was christened at St Martins, Birmingham on the 18th July 1794. The IGI gives her parents as William Dalton and Elizabeth..... BUT all the other family members christened there have Rebecca nee Watson as their mother - ie Harriot 19.12.1788, Frances 28.3.1791, Mary Ann 8.10.1793 and William 10.7.1796. They were definitely siblings as they appear together in later Channel Is census. One fellow researcher has said 'Elizabeth' is a transcription error - but what evidence is there for that? Is it wishful thinking? Is it possible to look at the original record?

Hi

A great place to post your query would be on the Birmingham History Forum at http://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk/forum.php

From the forum home page scroll down and click on 'churches' and St Martin Parish Lookups is the first choice.

Good luck
