I noticed a few marriages for a Joseph JARVIS in W.A.

Would save a bit of time if you know the name of Joseph's wife.

Joseph's wife is Selena d.19.1.1883. I think Joseph was a pensioner Guard.

He was! A sergeant when he died. He's on my list Here He died in Fremantle on the 29 July 1908.

The funeral of the late Mr. Joseph Jarvis, a resident of Fremantle for upwards of 40 years, took place on Friday. July 31. in the Methodist portion of the Fremantle Cemetery.
Deceased had also seen active service in Africa, where he had served with the 85th-Foot (Irish Fusiliers). The chief mourners were
Mr. Henry S. Jarvis (son), Mr. and Mrs. John Fitzpatrick. Mr.and Mrs. H. Clemens, and Mrs. A. Wilco (daughters and sons-in-law). Miss Selina Fitzpatrick (grand-daughter). Mrs. Farrington and Mrs. McGuinness The pall-bearers were Messrs. G. Yates, B. Harragon, A. Stewart, and F. Brindall. Among those present were Captain J". A. E. Humble (representing tho llth A.I.R.), Messrs. A. Atwood. G. Lewis, A. Price, W. Ohnev. Hudson, Fitzpatrick senr., V Caporn, and many others. The Rev. C. G. Carvasso officiated at the graveside and the funeral arrangements were carried out "by Mr. Donald Chipper.

Thank-you so much for your information. Joseph Jarvis is my Great Grandfather. My Grandmother was his daughter Edith. I know only that she met my Grandfather in W.A. Had two children there and returned to N.S.W. and had my Mother and three others. Does anyone know about where he came from. I know nothing about my Great Grandmother Selena. Thank-you janilye.

Hi Janilye, Thanks for all your help. My mother was Annie Wilce. I have done some family tree on the Wilce side, but just did not know where to start with my Grandmother's side (Jarvis/Peters). My mother said that Selina was a lot younger then Joseph. My Grandmother would have been about 3 years old when she died. Thanks again for giving me your time. Regards . Maree.

Yes tonkin it is an error Bridget was 93 when she died.

Brown (C.R., A.O.F., Court Perseverance, No. 8068), H. Henson, F. Bridgwood, N. Tennant, W. Cole, and J. Gilbert (Court Perseverance A.O.F.). The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. Bowra and O'Dea.

The above funeral notice shows us that Ellen JARVIS FITZPATRICK was still living in 1913, thereby narrowing the search for her.

Ellen is also buried at Karrakatta. (Catholic)
Unfortunately no obituary but this shows Ellen was born c.1863 but not where. John Fitzpatrick was a Bootmaker of Welshpool later moved to Stirling Street, Perth, where he was knocked down by a car and died at the Perth Hospital on the 14 June 1939 age 78. buried at Karrakatta (Catholic)

'Ngairedith' in here, has the cemetery lists for Karrakatta I'm sure she can help you out there.
Anyway, you're well on your way to having your own tree and possibly the 1st Joseph Jarvis 1830-1908 tree.

(I think Selina Peters was born in Capetown about 1843)

My connection is via Selina Frances, wife of H H Clemens, mother of Harry, Victor and Arthur Clemens. Died 1 February 1956, aged 88 years.

Hi, Just wondering if anyone on this thread knows any information on John Fitzpatrick who married Ellen Jarvis? In particular, where he was born. There are so many John Fitzpatrick's and it's hard to find the right one. He is my husband's great, great, great grandfather. Any help to be pointed in the right direction is appreciated.
