Looking for history of Walter Craven father of John (Jack) Craven - Michigan
I only have stories my grandpa (John/Jack Craven) told me when I was little that the Craven name was shortened from McCraven sometime around when the family came from Ireland. It might be all hogwash for all I know. :)
I know that John (deceased) may have two living siblings (maybe not), Atalie Morris of Oregon and Anita Welch of Sault Ste Marie.
Would appreciate any tips.

From the bits of digging I've found that craven is an anglicised name taken from O'crabhadain, although there could still be mcCraven's out there.
